These genuine Prestige Ready to Serve Indicators come packed on a card of 2.
The Ready to Serve Indicator also acts as a safety valve giving 3 seperate levels of safety.
The "Pintle" is designed to rise when the cooking cycle has begun and drop when the lid can be removed.
If there is an excess build up of pressure the "Pintle will pop up releasing steam, if pressure is not reduced sufficiently then the whole rubber plug will be forced out of the cooker allowing a vertical release of steam and reducing pressure.
If the cooker boils dry or gets too hot the "Pintle" will melt allowing excess pressure to be released safely.
When the rubber surround becomes hard the valve can no longer seal properly and should be replaced.
